Buying from Makro is now more convenient than ever thanks to Makro pick-up lockers. The field test phase for the innovative online fulfilment solution has officially begun at select Sasol forecourts in Gauteng. In November 2014 Makro announced its plans to launch a locker-based pick-up service. This new delivery option will supplement the home delivery and in-store click and collect solutions already offered by the company. Makro CEO Doug Jones says, “The added option of collecting your online purchase from a secure locker at a location close to you, or on your way during daily travels, has amplified the convenience of online shopping.”

Makro announced their partnership with McDonald’s SA to field test lockers at the quick service restaurant. The McDonald’s partnership is in line with the original strategy of positioning lockers in safe and convenient locations including petrol station forecourts, fast food restaurants, office parks and Makro stores.

Ordering into the locker is both simple and cheaper than home delivery.
- Select the products you wish to purchase and add them to your trolley
- Proceed to the online checkout
- Select “Locker Collection” on the fulfillment option page
- Select your locker location of choice
- Pay for your order (including the locker collection fee)
- Receive an SMS notification when the order is ready for collection
- Collect your order from the locker within 48 hours
