The intermediate phase at The King’s School West Rand had a fun day out at the Lego Expo on 11 June in Rosebank.
The Art of the Brick is a popular international Lego exhibition and now the sculptures are on our shores for every Lego enthusiast to enjoy. Artist Nathan Sawaya has created thought-provoking sculptures that appeal to the minds of children and adults alike.
Bronwyn Barnard, marketing manager at the school said the trip was for the Grade 4, 5 and 6 pupils.
“It was an art outing and the pupils got a chance to gain some inspiration from the Lego structures. They also got a chance to experiment at the
many lego tables set up with Lego pieces.”
The sculptures have been on display since 3 April and the exhibition is expected to go on until 2 August.
The artist has created images of the human body and more famous paintings including the Mona Lisa.
As any child’s dream, the expo was thoroughly enjoyed by the pupils and teachers alike.
