A pleasant Taylor Road

HONEYDEW MANOR – Home owners have had a pleasant time in their homes since the relocation of the Taylor Road squatters.

More than a month after the relocation of the Taylor Road squatters, residents say the feel their suburb has regained its dignity.

One such resident is Cynthia Kubeka who says, she is glad the squatters are now in a place where they will be able to receive services from the City Council. “Those people really had terrible living conditions. I cannot begin to imagine how they managed to carry on for so long under those conditions,” added Kubeka.

The relocation of squatters gave residents like Kubeka peace of mind. “I now enjoy being in my house because it is quiet,” mentioned Kubeka and explained that the squatters used to make a lot of noise, especially on weekends. Another point she is happy for is that the value of their houses will increase. “The squatter camp negatively affected our porperties which are our biggest investments.”
