Breakfast with Foster and Allen

MELVILLE – Renier Rossouw basks in the presence of Irish duo Foster and Allen ahead of their South African tour.

The well-known Irish music duo, Foster and Allen, has arrived in South Africa for its Gold and Silver Days World Tour, presented by Lefra Productions. The tour began on 27 March and will continue until 7 April.

A special media conference was held in Melville at Die Agterplaas.

This tour marks the fourth visit that the pair will be making to South Africa.

“It really feels like we’re returning to an old friend. We are in the fortunate position of seeing how our audiences in South Africa have change from way back in the ’80s to now,” said singer Tony Foster.

Mick Allen was humbled by how their audiences have stayed true and consistent over the years.

“The beauty of it all lies in the fact that our audiences in South Africa are every bit as clued up as our fans back home. It’s wonderful and very humbling to see such fan dedication,” he said.

Representative from Lefra Productions Charl Senekal said it was a big honour for Lefra to bring the duo to South Africa.

“Naturally, it’s a huge privilege to host the legendary Foster and Allen on their SA tour,” he said.

Senekal added that the music of Foster and Allen is really something close to his fondest childhood memories.

“We all grew up with their music, so all of their songs make it sound like the ‘soundtrack’ to our lives. We really look forward to a successful tour ahead with them,” he said.

Foster said they will be performing in new places.

“We are very excited to be performing at the Absa KKNK for the first time ever. We understand that this festival is one of the highlights on the yearly Afrikaans music calendar. So we are very privileged to be part of that,” he said.

Foster and Allen’s style and easy listening sound remains as fresh and exciting as ever. They seem to truly enjoy the business they are in, especially the live concerts.

Foster and Allen will perform in Nelspruit at the Emnotweni Casino on 2 April 2015, in Johannesburg at Emperors Palace on 4 April and in Oudtshoorn at the Absa KKNK on 7 April. After their South African tour, they will be touring New Zealand and Scotland.

All bookings can be made at Computicket.
