Toastmasters are back

CONSTANTIA KLOOF — Interested public speakers are invited for the first Bacon and Egg Toastmasters of the Year.

The Bacon and Egg Toastmasters will hold their next meeting on 7 March at their new premises at Huguenot Restaurant, Flora Centre, Ontdekkers Road.

Vice president of public relations and Constantia Kloof resident Glen Campbell said the NGO has broken through in communication and leadership development.

“Toastmasters is an international NGO and initially formed for people that do not like going out at night. We have breakfast meetings and offer a programme of communicating and learning.”

Hosted on Saturdays, the meetings include breakfast while listening to speakers and speeches on a variety of subjects with members from different areas, including Weltevreden Park and surrounding areas all taking part.

The Bacon and Egg Toastmasters is open to any person with an interest for public speaking to develop the confidence to speak in front of any audience.

Speeches can be either prepared or impromptu, around everyday themes including life, family and schools.
