Popular demand for international ballet company
MONTECASINO — The popular St Petersburg ballet has added more shows to the SA tours months before the curtain goes up.
The St Petersburg ballet has left the South African audience demanding for more way ahead of the actual show.
Shows are already being added to the international ballet company’s SA tour when they hit our shores in May. From Swan Lake, Giselle and Don Quixote, the company will present a festival of full-length ballet classics with a full orchestra.
Executive producer, Fred Hunter said with the added demand, audiences should not waste time getting their tickets.
“This is probably the best touring ballet company in the world, bringing its international tour to South Africa with Prima Ballerina Irina Kolesnikova. It is an extraordinary ballet and wonderful entertainment.”
Extra shows have been added to the Montecasino schedules and tickets can be bought at Computicket.
Hunter said eagerly, “Serious aficionados will want to see all three ballets. While Swan Lake is the world’s most-loved ballet, Giselle is a spectacular, romantic tale from a poem by Victor Hugo.”
