Maragon hosts Cornwall

RUIMSIG – Maragon Private School hosted a successful cricket game with Cornwall on 14 February.

Maragon Private School hosted Cornwall School Cricket Association’s U13 cricket side on 14 February for the sixth consecutive time.

Cornwall comes to the country every year to play cricket against a few other schools.

During their match against Maragon, Cornwall players batted first and set a target of 200 after 40 overs.

On the second round Maragon started their innings, however, Cornwall defended their 200 runs, and secured a win over Maragon for the second time in 6 years.

Once the game was wrapped up, the sun-burned visitors were treated to a traditional South African braai with pap super.

“It is always a great pleasure and extremely fun day to host the Cornwall players. We look forward to it every year and being able to show the English players the way we play the game of cricket and the wonderful country we boast,we look forward to welcoming them next year again,” said Marogon’s sports coordinator Kelvin Bekker
