Maragon reaches a new goal

RUIMSIG – Maragon Private High School officially launched their new swimming pool.

Maragon Private High School has expanded their horizons.

The school officially launched their new swimming pool for their pupils on 12 February.

“We are so proud to have a new pool,” said CEO of Maravest, Gideon van Niekerk.

“It is absolutely amazing because we are enhancing the product and the service for our children,” said Van Niekerk.

HOD of sports, Ymke Schutte agreed.

“Swimming is a sport that we need to focus on now, same as the astro – we are looking to improve overall at this stage.

“This is a young school and there are new developments taking place; we want to improve on the standards of our sports and also get to a point where we dominate the West Rand.”

The school also presents an excellent opportunity for three-year-old pupils to be in the learning swimming programme.

“We start building children’s skills from an early age, and we have seen improvement in the last month,” said Schutte.

He also added that they need more pupils to get involved in the sports.

Swimming coach Tracey Hemphill was also chuffed and said she will be hands on in building and enhancing skills.

“I am extremely excited that they have allowed me to build on my passion here, I get to be involved in so many people’s lives,” she said.

She also added that the high schools are already competing and doing well, however primary schools will start entering the swimming league in the fourth term.

”I have no doubt that we will do very well,” Hemphill concluded.
