NAB gives to charity organisations

NORTH RIDING- NAB gets into the spirit of giving, by giving Christmas gifts to the needy in North Riding and Alexandra township.

In the spirit of the festive season, NAB has put the money they would previously spend on client Christmas gifts towards two charities that are desperately in need.

Here’s a little more detail on where your support is going;

Mother of Peace North Riding is a small foster home and is run by a group of volunteers who dedicate their lives to looking after 27 amazing children.

Pat, Bill, Val and Evah, are based at MoP North Riding and care for the day to day needs of the children who range from 4 to 20-years-old. All their children come from extremely disadvantaged backgrounds, some having experienced physical, sexual and psychological abuse.

NAB and you, have been supporting Mother of Peace North Riding for over two years now. This Christmas each staff member at NAB has also put together a Santa Shoe box for each child.

On 25 December (Christmas day) every child will have a personalised gift box to open, bringing them much joy and happiness on a special day.

NAB's Brand and Events Manager, Brigette van Selm, turned her car into Santa’s sleigh with all the shoe boxes when she delivered to Mother of Peace earlier this month.

Lebogang Mpho Early Learning Centre (also known as Hayani) has two properties within Gauteng, one in the Alexandra Township which looks after 60 children between the ages of 2 and 6-years-old, and another in Orange Grove which cares for 25 children.

The centre looks after destitute women and HIV/Aids orphans, street children, abandoned children and those living in dire poverty.

They also offer foster care for orphans and vulnerable children as well as a daily feeding programme for children from poorer backgrounds within communities. Needless to say, they do not just have one project on the go, but many trying to help those in need.

This December, the centres are hosting NAB for a Christmas play where we will be providing the party food and a small gift for each child.

These children are so blessed to have somewhere to go every day and that these wonderful women take such good care of them. At NAB, we’re so privileged to be a part of a project dedicated to making them smile.

Again, thank you to you (our clients) for letting us ‘give back’ to those in need, you’re making lots of children very happy.

Would you like to get in touch with either of these charities?

Mother of Peace North Riding is situated on a free-holding close to the Coca Cola Dome at Northgate.

The children’s home receives no financial assistance from government, and has no major corporate sponsors that fulfill the core budget requirements of such an establishment.

The funding gap is particularly severe given the increasing number of children, the rising cost of living and the growing needs of the institution.

The Lebogang Mpho Early Learning Centre (Hayani) has multiple projects running to try and support those in need; from income generation projects to literacy programmes to ambassador programmes to nursery and day-care programmes.

All of these projects are run by volunteers and they rely heavily on donations.
