Councillor pleased with project
WELTEVREDEN – As ward 126 water pipe project is almost complete, the councillor said he is pleased with how it was run.
WELTEVREDEN PARK – Ward 126 Councillor Mike Tonkin expressed his satisfaction with how Johannesburg Water ran the installation of new water pipes around his ward.
Previously, burst water pipes were a constant challenge in his ward, the councillor said he was pleased that the City Council allocated budget to a project like this one for his ward. “New water pipes was part of my Integrated Development Plan (IDP) for this financial and this is good news for residents in my ward because they will have improved water services,” explained Tonkin.
The councillor said there was proper communication throughout the running of this project and with that said, he managed to update residents on developments.
Tonkin also applauded the water utility for their good approach to problems that arose. “They were very open to criticism and rectified any mistakes found on time.”
The other thing the councillor was pleased with is the fact that Johannesburg Water together with their contractors kept all the promises.
“We agreed with them that they should replace pavements after completing the project and they have done that very well.”
It is understood that Johannesburg Water spent R16 Million on this pipeline replacement project.
