Diabetes Awareness Day at National Health Centre (NHC) Honeydew
HONEYDEW - NHC will offer free glucose screenings and the dietician will advise the public on Diabetes Awareness Day on 14 November.
World Diabetes Day is annually observed as a wake-up call to all of us to check our exposure to the ‘silent epidemic’.
The National Health Care (NHC) in Honeydew is inviting you to the Diabetes Awareness Day on 14 November.
They will be offering free glucose screenings and the NHC dietician will also be there to offer nutritional advice to those living with the disease, as well as how to prevent Type 2 diabetes.
A diabetes nurse specialist and educator will offer advice and information about diabetes.
Diabetes is among the fastest growing non-communicable diseases in the country with an average annual increase of 11 per cent, while genetics play a role, lifestyle is the main factor for the increasing incidence.
