No gifts for Pikitup workers

JOHANNESBURG –No gift policy as Pikitup workers are urged not to give gifts to workers over the festive season.

Christmas is a time for giving but managing director at Pikitup Suren Maharaj urges the public not to give festive season gifts to waste removal staff, “Pikitup employees are not allowed to receive gifts from the public because this is against company policy.”

He explained that Pikitup staff can’t request ‘Christmas boxes’ from the public.

“Residents are under no obligation to offer any gifts to Pikitup’s refuse collection staff, as the company does pay a bonus to its staff members at the end of the year.”

Maharaj added that residents should report staff who harass them for gifts. “Corporate governance and zero tolerance to corruption are of critical importance to Pikitup and we will leave no stone unturned in rooting out corrupt officials and practices.

“If residents want to log any complaint they can contact 011 375 5555,” concluded Maharaj.
