Axe murderer case postponed to May 2015
ROODEPOORT – The case of the man who stabbed his wife to death on 23 July in Randpark Ridge has been postponed and moved to Palm Ridge Magistrates' Court.
On 6 November at about 11.30am the former axe-murderer who allegedly stabbed his wife to death in Randpark Ridge on 23 July appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court for the fourth time.
Magistrate Delize Smit, who has been the presiding officer since the man’s first appearance in court, transferred the matter to the South Gauteng High Court situated at Palm Ridge Magistrates’ Court. The case was postponed and will continue on 11 May 2015.
Investigating officer, Warrant Officer Michael Erasmus said, “The fact that the case has been moved to another court means that the accused will also have to relocate to a jail closer to the court.” He added that the man will be transferred to the Sun City Prison in Naturena, South of Johannesburg.
“The case should come to a judgment in the Palm Ridge Court,” WO Erasmus concluded.
