Solve issues, trim the trees
STRUBEN'S VALLEY – Resident explains that if trees are not trimmed in Krugerrand Road someone might be injured.
Resident Harry Stradling has been living in the suburb for the last 13 years and expressed that Krugerrand Road has always had one problem or another on it and around it.
One of these is that the pavements are too narrow to be used by pedestrians.
He explained that two trees on the left side of Krugerrand Road make it impossible for pedestrians to use the road. “They are forced to walk in the road because the trees are not properly trimmed by City Parks. Safety is one of the reasons why the entity should trim the trees, as the road is too narrow and a motorist will be unable to swerve out for a pedestrian if another vehicle is coming from the opposite side,” Stradling added.
Ward 97 councillor Jaco Engelbrecht said he has been made aware of the problem and will follow-up with City Parks about the trees which need trimming in Krugerrand Road.
No comment was forthcoming from City Parks spokesperson Jenny Moodley at time of going to print.
