Honeydew police loose to prosecutors
HONEYDEW - Police take on prosecutors in a game of soccer.
Home-ground advantage seemed to have worked well for Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court prosecutors when they recently played soccer against a team of Honeydew police officers.
The two teams played against each other in a friendly game at the soccer field of Princess High School in Roodepoort, which is a home ground of the prosecutors.
The sides brought their A teams to the game as the first half went without a goal from either side.
In the second half, prosecutors managed to find the back of the net scoring two goals, while the police only managed to score one.
Captain Chris Molapo, who is the soccer coordinator at Honeydew Police Station, said though they didn’t win the game, he is pleased with their performance.
“Today was just not our day to win. That is the nature of sport, but there is still room for improvement and we will win the upcoming games.”
He added that with the great performance from their team, it shows that they are ready to take on any team out there.
