Sarda is putting the able in disabled with special day plans for the Getaway School
Ruimsig— Sarda wil give out goodie packs to disabled children at a local school with the assistance of Pick n Pay.
The SA Riding for the Disabled Association (Sarda) has a special day planned for more than 40 disabled children at the Gateway School in Ruimsig on Friday 5 September, as initiatives for people with disabilities kick-off across the country.
Pick ‘n Pay will hand out goodie bags for the pupils of Gateway School and donate stationery to more than 300 children, to make learning easier and fun.
Sarda’s branch secretary at the Gauteng centre Julia Morris said, “The children will be able to participate in non-riding pat and chat sessions with our miniature donkeys and equine therapists. We really want to thank the ladies from Pick ‘n Pay for all the help and treating the [children].”
As a registered non-profit organisation, donations toward the day are welcome from the community.
Sarda Gauteng provides therapeutic horse riding for physically and mentally challenged children and young adults.
