Maragon cricket players make the Central West Cricket teams
RUIMSIG— Nineteenth Cricket players from Maragon Private school are looking forward to representing their school after qualifying for the Central West Cricket Teams.
Nineteen pupils from Maragon Private Schools will show off their cricket skills after qualifying for the upcoming Central West Cricket LeagueTeams.
With a wide range from U9 to U13, the boys are all set to represent their school in the tournament at the end of the month.
Kelvin Bekker, cricket coach at Maragon says, “We practice twice a week and we are very proud of the representatives from our school. We have a variety from all the age groups and they are doing very well for the school.”
This is not the first time the pupils land themselves a spot in the Central team. In 2011, more than 30 players from the U9 to U13 made the Central West Teams, with five players qualifying for the Gauteng Team.
Teagan van der Merwe, who is captain and part of the U13 squad says, “It is a great achievement for all of us and it just goes to show that hard work pays off. We train on Fridays and Saturdays and are looking forward to when the games begin.”
The Central West Cricket League will take place in September.
