Are you ready for a trolley race spectacular?

CLEARWATER - Roodepoort Round Table 162 in conjunction with Clearwater Mall and Hyprop is hosting their annual Fun Trolley Race for charity.

The Trolley Race, presented by Round Table in association with Hyprop, is now in full swing.

Roodepoort Round Table 162 in conjunction with Clearwater Mall and Hyprop are once again hosting their annual Trolley Race on 17 August.

The race is now in its 5th year and it promises to be a spectacular event. Enthusiastic individuals will have the opportunity to race, using their decorated trolley – the serious ‘racers’ complete the track in six to eight minutes and the mere mortals normally within 30 minutes.

According to Trolley convenor Charl du Plessis, the charity race promises to be loads of fun with two worthy charities benefiting from people’s participation. The beneficiaries are Gateway Society and Matla a bana.

“It was a fun idea that got out of hand and now it is a race collecting about R15 000 to R20 000 for the two charities every year,” he said.

Du Plessis informed that the race is like no other, over a total distance of 2.1 km and anyone can enter.

“It is a fun race, we have four people in a team – one person is the pilot who must sit in the trolley (which they supply), and three people push it around a track laid out in the parking lot around Clearwater Mall.”
