Karate stars in the making

RADIOKOP- Tebbutt kickboxers return home bearing gold medals galore from the national championships.

Tebbutt’s Kickboxing Academy kept the Panorama Sports Club name flying high at the recent National Kickboxing Tournament, held in Potchefstroom.

Two of the athletes from the academy returned home with hands full of medals.

Casey Stadler (8), who competed in the purple belt group, received three gold medals for musical weapon form, points fighting and continuous fighting.

The pride of the academy – Logan Stadler, who is the youngest black-belt holder in the country at 12 years old –lived up to the expectations of his academy.

He received five gold medals for competing in musical weapon form, traditional weapon kata, traditional kumite, points fighting and continuous fighting.

Logan’s outstanding performance earned him a Champ of Champs trophy because he won gold medals for all disciplines that he competed in.

Instructor at the academy Sensei Cassie Stadler, who also happens to be the duo’s father, expressed his pride in their achievements.

“The competition was very tough, even tougher for Logan as he was competing against people older than him.”

Cassie attributes the academy’s exceptional performance to proper preparation, training and team work.

“They trained under hard conditions ahead of the championships – one cannot afford to go to such competitions unprepared.”

He also credited the support they receive from academy leader, Master Alex Tebbutt.

“He guides us on what to expect at competitions of this magnitude,” said Stadler.

Tebbutt’s Kickboxing Academy is based at the Panorama Sports Club in Radiokop.
