Weltevreden Park Primary School recently held a charity civvies day, which turned out very fruitful.
“The ‘entrance fee’ for the day was an item of second-hand clothing, which was donated to Africa Food for Thought (AFFT), an NPO based in the West Rand,” AFFT general manager Claire Rosewarne said.
Rosewarne said the project was in line with the Community Council Project, that some of the school prefects are involved with.
According to Rosewarne, 96 orphaned or vulnerable families benefited from the collected items. The clothes were put into sacks and distributed to these families.
“Thank you, Weltevreden Park Primary School for this wonderful initiative. You are helping keep children warm this cold season,” Rosewarne concluded.
