Mrs Mooi makes the finals
LITTLE FALLS - Local beauty makes it to the finals of Mrs South Africa pageant.
Little Falls resident Riana Mooi (who we featured in the early stages of the competition) has been chosen out of hundreds of entrants as on of the 24 finalists in the 2014 Mrs South Africa Pageant.
The top 24 finalist were revealed in all their glory at the event in aid of the pageant’s official charity, The Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) held on at Emperors Palace 13 April.
Mooi said she entered the pageant in an effort to inspire and motivate women across all walks of life to achieve their goals and dreams regardless of personal circumstances or age.
“Despite the many roles I fulfill, I make time to participate in community projects and motivational talks to touch the lives of others and make a difference,”she said.
Mooi is married and a mother of two. She is passionate about community upliftment and giving back to those less fortunate.
She often shares her testimony at Christian Woman ministry events and describes these talks as an ever-present reminder of the journey that she travels fearlessly.
Mooi has represented brands such as Avon Cosmetics as the face of Avon in 2007 and is currently the face of Mangwanani African Day Spa. As their brand ambassador, Mangwanani African Day Spa has covered Riana’s costs associated with the pageant.
Joani Johnson is the chief executive officer of the Mrs South Africa pageant. She said Mooi exemplifies the qualities of a potential Mrs South Africa.”The pageant world is traditionally portrayed as a superficial and a beauty-only industry. Mrs South Africa is a pageant of substance,” she argued.
“We look for real women; women who are wives, mothers, and homemakers. They are ambitious and successful. The pageant is an empowering organisation, giving women from all around the country a platform on which to make their mark.”
The new Mrs South Africa will be crowned on the eve of Women’s Day (8 August) during the grand finale at Emperors Palace.
The night promises to deliver a glamorous affair that will celebrate all women from all aspects of life.
Tickets for the gala event are available from Mooi. Public votes can be cast for her via SMS to 35959 – simply SMS Riana Mooi to 35959 to vote.
Mooi is required to raise funds for CANSA during her Mrs SA journey. She will be hosting a Cuppa for Cansa on 21 June at the Maslow Hotel in Sandton.
