Sad farewells and new beginnings
WELTEVREDEN PARK - Panorama Primary says farewell, but also extend a warm welcome.
The staff and pupils at Panorama Primary have said a few sad farewells. It started with Mrs Sue Clarke, who acted as Deputy Principal of the school for many years.
Her teaching career began in the early 1970’s under an education system which promoted abhorrent ideals of apartheid within the impressionable minds of young South Africans.
Panorama teacher Dave Mac Clean said: “Mrs Clark remained a life-long learner, by continuously attending training opportunities which advanced her professional skills and knowledge. Essential for the rapid progress of technology, science, economics and the transformation of the country’s socio-political landscape.”
The staff at Panorama Primary School said they wished her a blessed retirement.
The school also bid farewell to chairperson of the school governing body (SGB), Dilshaad Dangor. The staff said her loyalty and dedication to the school made a lasting impression. She leaves a legacy of high standards and worthwhile contributions.
Vernon Nicholls has now been welcomed to assume the position of SGB chairperson. “As a parent, I expect the South African education system to provide my son with opportunities and experiences which will develop him into an effective citizen,” said Nicholls.
He is eager to lead the SGB in their role as governors and aim to expand the resources of Panorama Primary School.
