It was derby day for the pupils of Maragon School, who took the fight to sister school Cornwall Hill College in Irene on 1 March.
The writing was on the wall when Maragon’s first rugby team beat Cornwall in the last game of the day, with fly-half Sisa Tokwe scoring an excellent kick-and-chase try to secure the result.
The school’s good results were encouraging to both sport stars and spectators, Maragon’s marketing manager said.
“It was a well-organised day and with the whole school present, there was a lot of spirit and energy from the pupils, staff and parents,” she added.
“Thanks again to all staff, parents and pupils who attended the day. The results and the behaviour of all involved were of the highest order.”
