Be brave and come cut or shave
NORTHSIDE - The boys can shave, if they're brave enough, and the girls spray their hair with bright colours at one of the many Shavathons happening on the West Rand this February.
The Cansa Shavathon is adamant that this year is going to be its best year yet as fundraising for cancer survivors kicks off this February on the West Rand.
The annual event, which started in 2003, has seen people from across the country shave their heads, spray their hair with bright colours, or donate their ponytails in aid of cancer survivors.
Cansa West Rand will host various Shavathon events in the area in February and March.
Corporates, schools and organisations will have the opportunity to host their own Shavathon between 24-28 February.
Shavathon events will be held at shopping centres across the country on 1 March where the cost to shave, spray or donate a ponytail is R50 for adults, and R25 for children under 12 years old.
Shopping centres in the Northside area taking part on 1 March are as follows:
Clearwater shopping mall
Cradlestone mall
Princess Crossing shopping centre
Retail Crossing shopping centre
