SPCA needs your help
JOBURG – Welfare group’s animal inspectors in need of items.

The Johannesburg and Krugersdorp SPCA inspectors are on the road 24 hours a day, ready to assist animals in need. This involves anything from rescuing a dove from an electricity pylon to investigating cases of alleged cruelty. At times, it is necessary for our inspectors to place themselves in danger to help those animals who need us most.
The items on the inspectorate wish-list may seem insignificant, but they can mean the world to an animal in need of assistance.
1. 12 LED torches: These are used to light the way in dark areas.
2. 10 satellite navigation systems: These will assist us in locating animals in areas which are not listed in map books. The time taken to get to the animal can be greatly reduced using a GPS device.
3. 12 bolt cutters
4. 12 4-pound hammers
5. 12 standard size spades
6. Three long ladders (Must be able to fold up so that it can fit in the back of a 1400 bakkie)
7. 12 crowbars
8. 12 purse Tasers: Often our inspectors are robbed at night while trying to assist an animal. They will use Tasers to defend themselves from criminals, allowing them enough time to contact the police
Show your love for animals and donate these items to our inspectorate department. To see what we are still in need of, please contact Jolene Delport at the JSPCA.
