Weltevreden Park resident and co-founder of the St Laurence’s Children’s Haven, Pat Crichton, recently held a fundraiser for the haven in the form of a ladies day at Silverstar Casino’s Ballroom.
Four hundred women were treated to lunch and a show by illusionist Stan Sussman. The theme for the day was “Where in the World are You?”, and the ladies, who were divided up into tables of ten, took the theme very seriously. All competed for first prize which was awarded to the The German Beer Fest Fräulein group.
Crichton thanked all the women who attended and made the much-needed fundraiser possible and said she looked forward to seeing them again next year.
The St Laurence’s Children’s Haven is a registered section 18A organisation and run by a voluntary committee. All proceeds raised go directly to the haven.
