Honeydew riders visit Roodepoort SPCA
Horse riders from Glover Paddocks in Honeydew took some some time during their holidays recently to spend some quality time with the animals at the Roodepoort SPCA.
During the recent school holidays, horse riders from Glover Paddocks in Honeydew undertook a guided tour of the facilities provided by the SPCA in Roodepoort.
Although all the animals and facilities were visited, special attention was reserved for all the horses and donkeys that the SPCA has rescued, providing food, shelter and even vetinary care for these animals in need.
The tour had special significance for all the horse riders at Glover Paddocks because previously the stable yard has adopted two ponies and two donkeys, all of whom have grown to love their new home.
“For anyone looking for a pet, the Roodepoort SPCA is definitely worth a visit”, Glover Paddocks owner Michael Maher said.
Glover Paddocks adopted the two donkeys Lorenzo and Jethro originally rescued from Soweto. Maher said the Roodepoort SPCA provides great care and Glover Paddocks would like to support them.
