The first session of the free International Healing Choices rehabilitation programme by Recovery Café SA started at Eagle Canyon Golf Estate in Honeydew on the 8th of July.

It was the first of eight sessions being held every Monday evening at 7pm.

Leader of Recovery Café SA, Peter Kilian provides support to people battling with addictions such as drugs, alcohol, sex and food.

The programme is aimed at people who feel that there is something wrong in their life. It is open to anybody regardless of their religion or beliefs.

Kilian told attendees to ask themselves three questions:

Are you living with shame or guilt from your past?

Do you feel trapped in a habit or hang-up that is messing up your life?

Do you always feel afraid and worried of what may happen tomorrow?

Kilian was in the ministry for 20 years. He left the ministry for business and later ended up using drugs. “I was burned out and fell into drug addiction,” he said.

Now he calls himself a survivor of drug addiction and wants to help other people in similar situations.
