The word of the day for 18 November is: Productivity.
‘Productivity’ is defined as the quality, state, or fact of being able to generate, create, or enhance goods and services.
Sometimes, when we are overwhelmed or lacking confidence, our productivity is hindered. The fear of failure, or the fear that we are undeserving, or not good enough, can keep us from doing things that we need to do.
Bruce Lee said that if you spend too much time thinking about something, you will never get it done.
If we overthink, we become overwhelmed, and therefore unmotivated. The problem is if we don’t start, we will never finish. Mark Twain said, “The secret to getting ahead is getting started.”
Being afraid of making mistakes shows that you are passionate, but you cannot let that fear stop you. Albert Einstein said that anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new. You need to fail to be able to learn and grow; there is no shame in that.
If you are getting frustrated, give your mind space to breathe by focusing on something else and going back to what is frustrating you. Stephen Hawking said, “It’s no good getting furious if you get stuck. Keep thinking about the problem, but work on something else.”
Do not doubt your ability to do something. You will never know if you can do it unless you try. Stephen King said, “You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough, you will.”
