Hospitalised councillor willing to serve but needs rest

On Monday, 4 November, Caleb Finn addressed the residents of ward 70, updating them on his current condition.

On Monday, 4 November, councillor Caleb Finn updated the residents of Ward 70 on his current condition.

On Tuesday, 29 October, councillor Finn was admitted to hospital for tests because he had been experiencing pain. He had an operation on the Thursday and not long after being discharged, he was readmitted due to post-surgery complications.

In a message to the residents of his ward, he referred to his current situation as unfortunate as the readmission has delayed his expected recovery time.

He explained that his full intention was to continue with his duties to the best of his ability, apart from meeting with residents, which is not possible because of his limited mobility.

“This remains my commitment and you will note that I am responding to emails and messages as far as possible,” said councillor Finn in his message.

Showing his dedication to his ward, he said that he would continue to respond to messages as and when he can, he just cannot take calls.

While he can be contacted by email, WhatsApp or SMS, it is recommended to first approach councillor Ingrid Reinten, because resting may assist with his speedy recovery.

Councillor Reinten often attends meetings but will reply as soon as she can. She has made herself available to deal with urgent issues that cannot wait. She can be reached on 083 440 8343.

Councillor Finn expressed his sincerest apologies and said that he is sure everything should be back to normal by late November.

“I can safely say that I believe 2020 can only be better and that my health challenges will hopefully be a thing of the past by then,” he concluded.
