A single automobile was involved in a motor vehicle accident at around 1:15pm today, 16 October.

A man, believed to be from Randfontein and approximately 50 years of age, travelling in a yellow Citi Golf was heading south down General Pienaar Avenue towards Michael Brink Street, Witpoortjie when he suffered from a suspected heart attack. He subsequently lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the center median at the intersection of General Pienaar Avenue and Michael Brink Street.
Captain Juanita Yorke, Roodepoort police spokesperson confirmed, ”The driver suffered a fatal heart attack while driving. We extend our sincere condolences to the family.”
She conluded, ”No inquest docket has been opened and no foul play is suspected as the death was due to natural causes”.
No other persons were involved in the incident.
