The word of the day for 11 October is: ‘Growth’.
‘Growth’ is defined as an increase in size, amount, value, or importance. Personal growth is developing oneself in order to reach one’s full potential.
We grow as individuals when we learn from our mistakes and shortcomings to become better versions of ourselves. The bad things that have happened in our lives help us grow; they help us become better people and test our limits.
Joel Osteen said, “You are not defined by your past, you are prepared by it. You are stronger and more experienced; you have greater confidence.”
Sometimes, in order to grow, we need to make sacrifices; we need to stand up for what we believe in and that isn’t always easy. We have crutches and comfort zones that hold us back; we have people that hold us back; we have ourselves to hold us back. The need to impress someone else or be accepted prevents so many people from doing something they believe in, and that isn’t right. We need to fight for what we believe in and stand up for what is right; that is how we grow.
Andy Biersack said, “Stand up for what you believe in, even if it means standing alone. “
