Knowing exactly when to start making or planning for your Christmas dinner is not one of the easiest things to do. To serve a well cooked, three- or five-course meal, with all the best ingredients, takes a lot of time.
These five tips will help you to get everything on the table on Christmas Day, without any stress and worries.
•Tip 1: Start making your pudding now – do that first before anything else. You can even make it up to a year in advance.
Christmas Puddings need a minimum of 6 weeks to mature and they can easily last over a year in a cool dark place, so get started early and make your pudding now. They will still eat it, I promise.
•Tip 2: You can also start making your vegetables up to three months before Christmas Day. After cooking it, freeze it. Those who don’t eat their vegetables won’t even mind on the day.
•Tip 3: Start making your sauces two to three weeks before the day. Freeze them and then reheat on the day. Yes, they will still be saucy.
•Tip 4: The day before Christmas, peel the rest of your veggies and potatoes and parboil. Start with your stuffings, and the other side dishes that you have planned.
•Tip 5: On Christmas Day, only cook the meat that you have chosen, reheat everything that is already DONE, and sit back and relax. You can go buy bigger jeans the next day for the Christmas tummy, or just wear sweatpants, they don’t mind.
Enjoy your Christmas Dinner!!
