Chatroom encourages a positive attitude

The West Rand Chatroom invites all cancer patients and survivors to attend the sessions as a lot of information and words of encouragement are shared.

The West Rand Chatroom had its monthly meeting on Saturday 14 September at the NG Kerk in Constantia Kloof.

Everybody had the chance to introduce themselves and share with the group their ordeals while providing some words of encouragement.

Cancer survivors, caregivers and families were motivated and reminded that positive thinking is the best attitude to adopt when dealing with cancer as it also makes a big difference to your immune system.

Cancer survivor, Magaret Mavuso said, “I have my check-ups done every six months and I am now clean. Cancer is worrisome but it is very important to hold on and be positive. Move away from negative people and take charge of your life.”

Life coaches are available to the group to help them in every situation and most importantly, to encourage them to stay positive and never give up.

The Chatroom also has a web page and a Facebook page where people who are not that confident get the opportunity to chat and share their experiences.

Founding member, Pat Moodliar said, “The Chatroom really helps cancer survivors with all the information they need, and provides a platform to talk about their ordeals”.
