The Florida Police together with various other law enforcement agencies responded to a tip-off and arrested two people as a result.
On Tuesday, 20 August, the duo was arrested after they were found in possession of a hijacked motor vehicle.

“It is alleged that at about 8.30am on Tuesday, members of the Provincial Head Office Specific Crimes Unit received a tip-off about a possible hijacked motor vehicle (a white Mercedes Benz), parked on Mitchell Street in Discovery. They swiftly responded to the tip-off and called for backup from the West Rand K9 and Florida Crime Prevention Units,” said Sergeant Mpho More, the Florida Police Station spokesperson.
She stated that on arriving where the car was parked, the officials found three unknown males sitting on the veranda and a Mercedes Benz key was found on one of them.

“The white Mercedes Benz, which was hijacked in Roodepoort, was seized, as well an undisclosed amount of money together with dagga, drugs and two firearms,” said More.
The Florida Police Station has thanked the community for being their eyes and ears in fighting crime.
