Equipment seized during operation O kae Molao

All impounded goods were taken to the Roodepoort Police Station.

On Tuesday, 13 August, law enforcement officials confiscated mining equipment in Matholesville during an operation aimed at curbing illegal mining.

The joint operation called O kae Molao (Where is the law?) yielded positive results and 20 people were arrested.

Captain Kay Makhubela, the Provincial Police spokesperson, said these arrests brought the total number of arrests since the operation commenced to 30.

Among the seized equipment were 50 phendukas, gas bottles, stampers, water buckets, Pikitup bins and shovels.
