Ebenezer proud of their crafts – available to community to buy

The team from Ebenezer Psychiatric Home in Witpoortjie recently sold some of the residents’ arts and crafts to raise funds for the house.

“We have 23 residents and they make these beautiful crafts,” said Bret Mandy, from the home.

Most of the patients at the centre suffer from bipolar disorder or schizophrenia and those who do not have permanent employment make crafts in the workshop.

“We have someone who is good with painting, another used to shake all the time, but she realised she is good with mosaic,” she said.

They have everything from beautiful paintings, mosaic and even handmade candles.

“We plan to sell our crafts every first Saturday of the month,” explained Bret.
