Police plead for clothes for ‘orphaned’ teen

Moeketsi lamented that Jason has a need for warm clothes.

“He still doesn’t want to return home. He says he’s still enjoying where we’ve placed him so far”.

Jason is being kept at a place of safety by the police after he claimed to be an orphan due to the ‘tragic passing’ of his parents. He claimed his parents died shortly after each other in the same month.

However, it was soon discovered that both his parents are still alive, but the police kept him, after coming to realise that he had been going through some problems at home.

Moeketsi told the Record that he cannot be forced to go back home if he isn’t ready to go back. “We cannot force him to move back home. However, we are trying find him a new shelter in Krugersdorp – and if he’s allowed to stay there – at least there is a school in the facility to help him improve his education,” she explained.

Moeketsi also lamented that Jason has a need for warm clothes. “He needs jackets, shoes and t-shirts. I get him to put on whatever is donated to him, then take a photo and send it to the donor to show that the item got to him,” she explained.
