The Florida Police have arrested a number of suspects who were found in possession of drugs in and around the precinct since the beginning of May.
By embarking on these weekly operations, they are doing their utmost to eradicate drugs in the area.
“About 30 suspects were arrested during May for drug possession, and we will continue with our mission to chase all the drug dealers and dens out of the area,” said Sergeant Mpho More, spokesperson for the station.

The latest arrests were of two suspects who were nabbed on Thursday, 30 May. In one incident, when police were patrolling in the area, they noticed an unknown, suspicious-looking male, running into a block of flats.
“The police chased the man, who threw a small blue plastic bag onto the roof and kept running. They picked up the bag, caught up with him and found that the bag contained a white substance suspected to be drugs.
“In a separate incident, the police saw a suspicious car and when the driver noticed the police, he abandoned the car and ran away. The police caught him too, and returned to the car, where they found nine Ziploc-type bags containing drugs,” she added.
The two detained persons, aged between 29 and 31, will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
