WATCH: Free soup for everyone
The company will be very involved in social and community upliftment projects throughout Roodepoort .
Building The Face of Our Future (BFF) held a soup kitchen on Saturday, 1 June, at the Sonop Hardware store on Dirkie Uys Avenue.
BFF was handing out free soup and bread to anyone who wanted a meal to start their day.
“Our aim is to empower dignity through humanitarianism. We are all about feeding people and helping them nourish themselves,” said Yolande Opperman from BFF.
Yolande said she believes in giving back because the more one gives, the more one receives.
The company will be very involved throughout the Roodepoort area in social and community upliftment projects.
The next soup kitchens will be held as follows:
* 22 June, Municipal flats at the intersection of Corlett Avenue with Progress Road/ Nassau Street.
* 6 July, Sonop Hardware store on Dirkie Uys Avenue.
* 20 July, Municipal flats at the intersection of Corlett Avenue with Progress Road/ Nassau Street.
“We are also busy with a knitting project and anyone that can donate wool and/ or needles or who is willing to knit can contact us on 073 147 1422,” said Yolande.
Scarves are being knitted for schools in and around Witpoortjie and they will be delivered after the school holidays.
