Canine Zone hosts annual Pet Expo at Clearwater Mall
The main attraction of the event was most definitely the dog fashion show which had some dog fanatics entertained by the dogs in designer wear.
Pet lovers enjoyed their visits to Clearwater Mall during the weekend when the annual Canine Zone Pet Expo was held in the fountain court area inside the mall.
The event started on Friday, 31 May and continued till Sunday, 2 June, with the purpose of educating and entertaining dog and cat parents as well as raising funds for dog and cat shelters.
The weekend had a couple of items to offer in the form of a puppy socialisation demonstration, a dog fashion show, a Paws for People – I speak Doggy show, spot-prize giveaways, dog obedience, trick demonstration and K9 yoga.
Shelters that were present at the event included Woodrock Animal Rescue, Nordic Husky Rescue, Paws R Us, Adora-Bull Terrier Rescue and the Roodepoort SPCA.
On Saturday from 11am until 1pm the fountain court was filled with excitement as dog owners and instructors walked in with their beloved pets for an exciting show and demonstration. The time schedule for Sunday was the same and included a wonderful, interactive, bite prevention and dog care demonstration from Paws for People called ‘I Speak Doggy’.
