International Tekkie Tax Day
The funds raised through this initiative will assist in educating communities about the importance of screening and lowering the risk of developing cancer.
With just a few days to go, International Tekkie Tax Day is almost here.
The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) is inviting you and your loved ones to be ‘Tekkie-tized’ and ‘Mezzz-merized’ on Friday, 31 May, in support of CANSA’s education programmes to lower the risk of cancer, as well as care and support programmes for those affected by it.
To participate, you need to do the following:
* Choose the ‘Education’ sticker.
* Mezzz-merize your takkies with a set of the brand-new Tekkie Tax hickie shoelaces.
* Purchase the 2019 Campaign T-shirt (purchase online at www.tekkietax.org) or choose between one of two 2019 Limited Edition T-shirts (adult sizes only)
* Tekkie Tax buttons are also available (purchase online at https://www.tekkietax.org)
The following are available at CANSA Care Centres countrywide:
– Stickers
– Tattoos
– Hickies or multi-coloured silicon shoelaces
Community members are urged to find out about cancer screening when purchasing the Tekkie Tax kit. Screening will help with early detection and will allow the diagnosis of cancer in its initial stages. The kit can be purchased at your local CANSA Care centre or any Toys “R” Us or Babies R Us store, however, the stores do not have T-shirts. The kit can also be ordered online at www.takealot.com and will be delivered.
CANSA relies on funds generated to continue providing their care and support programmes, which help cancer survivors, loved ones and caregivers cope with a cancer diagnosis and the side effects of treatment.
The funds raised through this initiative will assist in educating communities on the importance of screening and lowering the risk of developing cancer.
