Fighters do well at multi-sporting festival

The tournament took place at four venues, with Sandton Convention Centre being the main venue where the Trade Expo was hosted.

 

Honour Kickboxing Academy participated at the Arnold Classic multi-sporting festival in Sandton and three of its fighters did very well in their sporting codes.

HKA fighter Zanel van Eeden put up a great performance and won an impressive two gold medals on the day, while Ryan Boshoff followed suit with some good results, winning a silver medal.

Sensei Antoinette Visser made her comeback from retiring from the sport and won a well fought for silver medal.

The multi-sporting festival afforded over 20 000 athletes the opportunity to compete in an international competition against participants from six continents in 86 different sports.

The main man behind the Intercontinental Festival, Arnold Schwarzenegger said, “This year we’ve brought in more sporting codes, making it one of the biggest multi-sporting events in Africa”.

Honour Kickboxing Academy owner, Steve van Eeden said, “I am very proud of my fighters’ achievements at the competition and I know they have learnt a lot from competing against the best in the country. Anybody interested in joining our club is welcome, even if it’s only for keeping fit.”
