Pageant finalist plays her role in the community

'May God bless her in her journey through life'

2019 Miss Randfontein finalist, Zwané Volschenk, won the hearts of the elderly at the Roodepoort Sentrum vir Bejaardes when she donated a quantity of vegetables to them.

This initiative is part of her community project, during which she has raised funds with the aim of promoting healthy eating among the residents of the centre.

The 11-year-old Zwané said, “I hope the health of the residents will improve after the donation, and that they will be less likely to get diabetes because they are eating vegetables. I am very determined to help the elderly because I know that they are vulnerable and can no longer do the things they used to do. I am also aware of the fact that they are more at risk of developing diabetes than younger people”.

“We are very grateful that this beautiful young girl thought of us and our health. May God bless her in her journey through life,” said Bonnie Hayward, one of the residents at the Centre.
