The talented Erasmus brothers are off to America
"We are truly grateful for this opportunity and we are happy that we will be going to America for the first time"
Brothers Charl and Jeán Erasmus from the Westside Academy of Performing Arts (WAPA) are off to America, after competing at the Talent Africa Nationals and being selected to be members of the team to represent South Africa at Talent America.
“They really made WAPA proud,” said their teacher, Ria Vorster.
Their visit will take place from Saturday, 22 June till Tuesday, 2 July. The brothers received their provincial colours at the national competition, where they each performed two items, namely Dramatised Poetry and Public Speaking, and qualified in both categories.
Charl is currently a Grade 4 learner at Trinity House Little Falls, while Jeán in Grade 10 at Charter College International High School. “We are truly grateful for this opportunity and we are happy that we will be going to America for the first time. It is not all children who have such opportunities and that is why we will make the best of it,” the brothers joyfully said.
