Special operation yields 34 arrests

Suspects aged between 22 and 50 were arrested for various cases.

The Roodepoort Police conducted another successful special operation during their stop-and-search duties between 21 and 25 April.

According to a statement released by the police, 34 suspects aged between 22 and 50 were caught for various criminal offences, among them possession of drugs, possession of suspected stolen vehicles, shoplifting, pointing of firearms, assault with the intent to commit grievous bodily harm, kidnapping, driving under the influence of alcohol, and reckless and negligent driving.

The suspects were charged and detained at the Roodepoort Police Station and will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
