Lotto gives a car to a Home in Witpoortjie
"It will help us to continue helping others"
Lotto recently sponsored a brand new vehicle for the Ebenezer Psychiatric Home.This is an experience which is made possible by contributions from the US powerball.
The Home has been operating without a car for many years. According to the Home’s manager, Brett Mandy, they had to resort to using their own personal cars to manage the institution.
“We are delighted to receive this sponsored car from the Lotto. It will help us to continue helping others,” said Brett.
The Ebenezer Psychiatric Home is a non-profit organisation that was established in March 2005. The Home currently takes care of 23 mentally ill permanent adult residents. The Home is situated in Ham Street, Witpoortjie.
“Our mission is to help severely psychiatrically disabled persons who suffer from bipolar disorder or schizophrenia to feel worthy and help them deal with their illness. We assist our residents by rehabilitating and integrating them back into society,” Brett explained.
