Witpoortjie boxer gearing up for big fight
The fight will be taking place on 10 May
Wynand The Notorious Mulder is preparing for his next big fight, which will be taking place on 10 May at Emperor’s Palace.
Even though this will not be a title fight, it could potentially create an opportunity for him to contest another title. He explained, “This is a very important fight for me, and it is also a must-win fight. Because I lost my two previous fights, I really need to get a win under my belt.”
He will be fighting against Roarke Knapp, whom he described as a very good fighter. “I don’t think he has lost a fight yet, which means it is going to be a tough night in the ring. We both have a lot of power, and, in the end, the win will be going to the one who wants it the most. The fight has the potential of being a crowd favourite event,” Wynand said.
Wynand added that his last fight against Boyd Allen did not go as planned, “The golden rule in boxing is to always protect yourself, but, I lost focus for a second and paid for my mistake. As the saying goes, we all learn from our mistakes and go back to better ourselves and work hard on our weaknesses.”
He said that he has changed quite a few things after his last fight to ensure he is ready for this one, including his training methods, sponsors, diet and even the people he surrounds himself with. “My training camp is also going very well, and my trainer, Gert Strydom, is working with me from Monday to Saturday to ensure I am in top shape for this fight,” said Wynand.
He concluded by thanking all his sponsors for their contributions and support, and said, “The only thing I am asking for before this fight is positive vibes, so that my mindset stays positive.”
