The City of Johannesburg’s waste management entity, Pikitup, would like to advise residents and business owners that refuse collection services will be delivered on all public holidays.
According to Pikitup spokesperson, Muzi Mkhwanazi, refuse collection will continue during the March to June public holidays, ie on 21 March (Human Rights Day), 19 April (Good Friday), 21 April (Easter Sunday), 22 April (Family Day), 27 April (Freedom Day), 1 May (Workers Day), 8 May (Election Day) and 16 June (Youth Day).
Collection of recyclable materials will also continue in all scheduled areas. Gardens and landfill sites will also be operating.
