Poor service at Florida Testing Station

Clive Enoch from Roodepoort writes:

We got to Florida Testing Station early, before 7am, to stand in the queue to renew a driver’s licence.

At 7.35am, they open the gate and move the queue inside. There is no one to assist in checking the different reasons why each of us are there. There is no one at the special window for confirmation printouts, so we wait.

At about 8am, someone goes to check and the lady at the special window is there but didn’t bother to call us. We get the confirmation letter and wait again. At 8.35am, one hour after the gates opened, someone appeared to hand out forms to be completed for eye tests. Only one person was doing eye tests.

It is also evident that an individual is helping a few people cut the queue. So being in the first 10 doesn’t really help, because other people are slipped in front. Why did it have to be this way?

The officials get paid to do their jobs. People who volunteer in other situations do so enthusiastically. Why can’t people just do the jobs they are paid to do, in time, with excellence and with a desire to serve?
